Brooklyn Center for the Urban Environment (the Center) is the lead community partner for AEL and is located in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The Center provides support to us through staff training and workshops for students and parents/guardians, and assists with integration of our school's theme.

For over 25 years, Brooklyn Center for the Urban Environment has engaged young minds in activities that promote curiosity and exploration of New York City's urban environments. Every year nearly 100,000 children, youth, and adults discover urban ecology, history, architecture and design through the Center's hands-on science and literacy activities.

Whether you map Bushwick, test the water in the Gowanus Canal, or build models of the streets you live on, the Center opens your mind to the multitude of environments that surround you.
